Erosion & sediment control

Silt fence, perimeter controls & sediment BMPs.

In before the first cut, out when the permit closes. Silt fence, inlet protection, check dams, wattles, ECB and TRM, construction entrances and washouts, installed to the state detail and maintained through the job.

Scope

Everything between the property line and the first inlet.

Sediment controls are the first thing on a site and the last thing off it, and they are what the inspector looks at first. We install the full perimeter and interior package from the E&SC plan, repair it after every storm, and remove it at closeout.

Silt fence goes in with a static slicing plow, not a trencher, so the fabric is locked in undisturbed soil and holds. We install Type A and Type C (wire-backed) to the Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and South Carolina details and FDOT Type III and IV in Florida. Inlet protection, check dams, wattles and filter socks, erosion control blankets and turf reinforcement mats, stabilized construction entrances and concrete washouts round out the package.

Sequencing matters as much as the product: perimeter controls go in before grading starts, interior controls follow the phasing, and nothing comes out until the area above it is stabilized.

PerimeterSilt fence install & removal

Type A/C, wire-backed, FDOT Type III/IV. Static-sliced, posts to spec, removed and disposed of at closeout.

Inlets & channelsInlet protection · check dams · wattles

Rock and fabric inlet protection, rock and wattle check dams in swales and ditches, filter socks on slopes.

SlopesECB · TRM · slope stabilization

Blankets and turf reinforcement mats on steep slopes and channel linings, pinned to the detail.

AccessConstruction entrances · washouts

Stabilized trackout pads, concrete washout pits, and the maintenance that keeps the street clean.

Maintenance & closeout

Installed is the start. Maintained is the job.

Every BMP on the plan has to be inspected and repaired after rain events, and the SWPPP has to show it. We handle post-storm repairs, sediment removal when the fence is a third full, replacement of torn or undercut sections, and the documentation that goes with it. See SWPPP maintenance for long-duration sites.

At closeout we remove the perimeter in the order the plan allows, stabilize what the removal disturbs, haul off the material, and give the super the record for the Notice of Termination.

FAQ

Straight answers.

What silt fence types do you install?+
Type A and Type C (wire-backed) in Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and South Carolina; FDOT Type III and Type IV in Florida; whatever the state detail or the project spec calls for elsewhere.
Do you trench or slice?+
Slice. A static slicing plow cuts a narrow slot and pulls the fabric into undisturbed soil, which holds far better than a backfilled trench.
Do you remove silt fence at the end of the job?+
Yes. Removal, disposal and stabilization of the removal line are part of the closeout scope.
How fast can you get a perimeter in?+
It depends on terrain, access and footage; the proposal comes with a schedule. We mobilize immediately.
Do you handle inspections?+
We handle maintenance, repairs and the photo record. Formal E&SC inspections are the permit holder's responsibility; we work alongside the inspector of record.
